The SFSTF distributed emergency food boxes to East African and West African communities needing help keeping food on the table during this crisis. These boxes contained halal meat and other essential items. Food insecurity has increased in South Seattle. But for many people in the community, eating enough nutritious food is far easier said than done. East African community face additional barriers and risks when it comes to finding Halal food, particularly in the midst of crisis.
