The Intergenerational Communications Workshops is a project that delves into the complexities and varieties of intergenerational conflict (IGC) in Somali families/households. The project identifies drivers of IGC through guided discussions with Somali mothers, daughters, fathers, sons and the use of role play to demonstrate those drivers and provide workable resolutions in order to maximize better communication efforts, understanding, and engagement from both sides. We facilitate an environment that is open, welcoming, and free to share one’s thoughts and opinions – furthermore, to understand one another. Workshops are ongoing.
